Challenge #183 - Word Art Wednesday

Welcome, friends!  We're so happy you're here to join us for another great challenge this week.  This is the first week for one of our two new designers, and we would be SO grateful to have you stop by to welcome her.  Charity Chamberlain is joining us, and we trust that you will enjoy her cards and her sweet spirit.  Charity loves the Lord, and looks forward to meeting you all as she honors the Lord with her art while serving on our Design Team.  You can visit her blog, Collective Creativity, to say hello.  We have two WONDERFUL sponsors again this week, and wish you the best of luck in the random draw.  We're SO grateful for the art you share.

Our scripture for this week's word art is Psalm 149:4 which says, "For the LORD taketh pleasure in His people:  He will beautify the meek with salvation".  The first part of this verse tells us something really exciting; which is that God enjoys us!  He didn't create us for any reason other than the simple fact that He SO WANTED to enjoy us.  Now, let's be honest and admit that He is NOT always pleased with us.  Often times, I am not a real "pleasurable person" to be around.  My husband and children may want to take a step back from me when I'm "in a mood".  Yet, He still enjoys us (takes pleasure in us) - even in "our moods".  It's so good for me, as a sinner, to know that He enjoys me.  That's because He created me, and He "gets" me.  Despite the fact that we are all SO very different, and SO complicated (in our lives, our minds, our thinking, etc.)....He still enjoys us - quirks and all.  That's a huge blessing to know.  With this in mind, it's important that we make every attempt to be pleasing to Him and to do things that will show Him we're grateful for His love.  The second part of this verse tells us that "He will beautify the meek with salvation".  Quite honestly, that means EVERY saved person is meek; because, in order to be saved, we must become meek, and humble ourselves (admitting our sinfulness and our need for salvation).  He makes us beautiful (like Him) when we become a child of God.  This paints a beautiful picture that reflects back to Him.  When we lower ourselves, He is lifted up.  We admit our sinfulness and our need for His saving grace, and He calls us His own and makes us beautiful in His sight.  The world may not always be able to see that beauty, but WHAT A BLESSING that God sees that beauty when He looks at us.  God actually sees Himself in us when we become His child.  That's really exciting news!

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
